2017 so Far

2 min read
Hello my dear friends, stalkers, and silent viewers who keep an eye on my deviant art because it's the only medium they haven't blocked me on. I'm still alive. I'm still slacking in the art department and making promises to myself that I'll post more. Problem is, that even though I AM doing stuff, 90% of it is gifts and is given away before I think to take pictures. Ah well, such is life.
I have weekends free mostly now, so my hope is to get something accomplished and posted each week. But I know the reality is I use that time to clean and organize my house as I get my exes stuff out. Hopefully once that's done, I'll be able to have a functioning, organized art space that I use.

In the meantime, I'm still practicing makeup (Once I get some good pictures of my elf's tribal makeup I will post those) and I've been practicing sewing. I like being able to swap my garb around for my Larp. I've also been doing a little research for sculpting prosthetics. I have way to many interests.

Till next time~

2016 So far

Why hello everyone! It's been quite awhile. I must admit, I'm terrible at keeping up with my deviantart. What can I say, I'm addicted to Facebook! I still stal-errr CHECK, my deviantart every day, but I very rarely post my stuff. I know, I know. I said that last time you say! I promised to change my lazy ways!
Weeeeeelll. The thing is, I'm QUITE lazy about my art. And two little ones make it even harder to do pretty much anything. BUT! Have no fear. I shall resume posting stuff soon...probably. I will admit that my drawing skills have definitely slacked. But, my jewelry, crocheting, and sculpting abilities have really improved. So I will be posting pictures of that sort of stuff while I break in my new tablet that I bought. I also bought a LEGIT copy of Mangastudio 5. Go me! I'm hoping the guilt of spending the money will make me draw a little bit more. We shall see.

In other news, I've started Larping. What is Larping you ask? WHY ARE WE FRIENDS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT LARPING IS??????

But I digress. Larping is pretty much DnD, but in real life. You play your character, and...you PLAY them. Everything you say and do while on field is in character. Which can be quite confusing at first. But it's a LOT of fun. I'm also going to be slowly building up my characters gear and outfits and whatnot, which means breaking out the old sewing machine, making puppy eyes at my husband for an embroidery machine (the promise of Zelda and Link matching handtowels is swaying his judgement a bit, but he's still holding fast ;) ) and just in general making STUFF. I shall -hopefully- be posting pictures of that on here as well.

In other, other news, I will at some point this year become a stay at home Mom. So while THEORETICALLY this means I have more time for art, we shall see what ACTUALLY happens. As previously stated, having two young'uns can be a handful. And the little ones crawling now, so lot's of scrambling to keep things off the floor that the 3 year old thinks would make YUMMY treats for brother. *sigh* Kids. They're so dang cute though.

Hmmmm there's other news....but I have to wait on that ;)

I guess that about wraps it all up. I will hopefully be talking to you guys soon (bonus points for active watcher comments! Wooo! The points get you my undying love and conversation, lol)

Toodles!

Hello! I'm even worse at keeping up with this journal than my actual journal ;P

Baby #2, Thomas was born July 8th at 8:35pm. He was induced for medical reasons, but otherwise the birth went very well and we both were healthy. I say were because at some point, the hospital started giving me medication to prevent an infection and it turns out I was allergic to it! It wasn't until an hour before I was to leave the hospital that they figured it out. They honestly just thought I was still sick, and kept giving me the medication until a nurse finally figured out it was an adverse drug reaction. I ended up spending almost 4 days in the hospital, being unable to breastfeed for the first week of my sons life (which is a big deal to me! We still struggle now because of it :( ) and it took almost 2 weeks before the rash and swelling went away. My skin is still dry, but at least I don't look like a lizard xD (yes it was THAT bad!)
So yeah, what an adventure that was. Since we've been home, we've been trying to establish a new routine. Julian starts preschool in September. I can't believe how big he is getting! Especially looking at Tommy, who was a normal sized baby compared to his big brother xD

Art wise, I have been cross-stitching still. Between a birth and wedding sampler, I haven't had time to work on Pokemon. Once I get these gifts out of the way, I can get back to it so I can finish that up. I thought I would have more time on maternity to work on my projects, but having two children reallllllllly takes up 150% of your time. But it's worth it. These are the days I'll look back on I'm sure. I've also gotten a few new watercolor books, yes ANOTHER thing I've been experimenting with, though no progress worth sharing as of yet. I'm really liking the Dreamscapes series, Stephanie's art is absolutely stunning.

Ok I better get off here, I have tons of stuff that needs to do. A mothers job is never done :)

Wow it's been awhile since I've last posted! I'll be honest, it's because I mostly post my progress pictures and completed projects on Facebook. I'm kinda bad at updating this account, haha ^ ^;
Things have been going pretty well-though they've been super busy. Living on your own is quite the adventure, especially with a two year old in tow! He's quite the handful, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. <3
I've been doing mostly tactile work, as most of you have noticed. I like to make costume jewerly and can't wait to start casting resin cosplay props sometime this year! I'm also becomming quite known in my small knit community for commissions. Maybe someday I'll open them up online as well, but for right now I enjoy doing things for the people I know. I'm also trying to get back into sketching, and have picked up Pokemorphs again. I'm currently fixing some of the older sketches and then I'll start posting them on smackjeeves and probably here as well. It won't be anything spectacular, but it'll help keep me occupied. For some reason it's just much easier for me to make something 3D than it is 2D, but it's nothing that hard work and determination can't solve.

Oh, I have some BIG news. I'm pregnant again :)

Actually, I've been pregnant several times...but unfortuanately I've had 2 miscarriages in the past year. So this baby being healthy and making it this far has definitely been a blessing. It's kind crazy how much motherhood and a loss of that caliber can change a person. I look at who I was a few years ago, and I can't even imagine being around someone like that, let alone BEING them. But ah well, such is life! You live and learn, and grow ;)  Of course I'm -hoping- for a girl this time, but I will be happy no matter what. I might find out next week, so I'll definitely post when I find out.

Hmm there's lots more to talk about, but I don't want to bore you guys with the nitty gritty details. I'm going to start sculpting a bit more often (I really need to work on my painting skills a bit more. My leaves are a little less than realistic :( ) and I'm still hard at work on my Pokemon tapestry, which I will be posting an updated picture of shortly.

Off to go do some more work while munchkin is sleeping!

Back to basics

2 min read
So I did move Tuesday, which is partially why you guys haven't heard from me in awhile. The biggest reason being of course, that I no longer have internet xD
It's pretty jarring to realize that internet (and tv too) is something that we don't really NEED. I enjoy having it and would probably go crazy without my phone, but for the most part I'm doing okay. I have a nice little garden going in my backyard, and I have defintiely done more crafts. Haven't taken any pictures, but hoping to do that soon. I'm going to be updating a picture of my cross-stitch soon, to prove that I'm still working on it :) I also have several plushies to finish up and show you guys, so I promise that I've been doing stuff. I also update alot over at the group, that's what I've been focusing on for the most part. If you haven't had a chance, then check it out.
Speaking of Sailor Moon, let me jump on the bandwagon and give my two cents about the new anime. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with it. However, I think the art style, while I understand WHY they are drawing the way they are, doesn't properly mix the anime and old school manga. I think the proportions need to be desperately worked on, and at times, can see MAJOR mistakes in the art. I realize the project was rushed, but c'mon. But I'm hoping it's something that will be fixed in time. And OMG MAMORU! I LOVE his design!
So that's about it. Things are kinda boring around here, but it's wonderful to be on my own.

Talk to you all later!
